Thanks for all the well wishes! We are very excited and looking forward to adding to our little family!
Anyone have any tips for me on how to pick a crib mattress? I think we’ve decided on a crib from Pottery Barn Kids, but I am unsure if we should also purchase a lullaby crib mattress (and if so, the standard or supreme?) or if other brands have received better reviews. I am seriously considering joining Consumer Reports just so I can get the lowdown on newborn necessities.

They were very helpful to us when we were picking out baby stuff.

belated congratulations! so exciting :)
i love pbk, but i'd venture to guess that their mattresses are overpriced. many of the same manufacturers who make beds make crib mattresses, so i'd definitely check that out. lots of reviews available on various sites.
i'll try to send you an email soon on some other related things :)

Congratulations! I've never been picky about mattresses, the babies have all slept thru all of the ones they had, one from Wal-Mart, two from Babies R Us. I think one was a Simmons or Serta mattress? I think my kids would sleep on the floor if I made them.
I'm sure whatever you pick will be fine. I was, however, very picky about the carseat and did consult Consumer Reports for that. Good luck and if there's anything I can help with, just holler (or email) :)

I just remember this, way past your posting. But if you have a library card through KCLS, you can access the CR website for free (through the KCLS website). Just learned this recently myself.
